Summer sailing season is in full swing. People are racing, sailing, repairing and upgrading their boats. What have you done for your boat?

We've been gluing H20's back together.

Damn that's quite some damage! Nice repair.

I've been patching holes and cracks in my 17. I will not post pictures of the patches though... since this is my first attempt. :p

well... not specifically today but,
I've been restoring my '88 H18, lots and lots of time doing the Mr. Miagi... (you know, wax on, wax off). Compund, polish, wax... 4 coats to finally seal the gelcoat! Had new hiking straps sew into the tramp, had all the rotted stitching on the sails fixed, new stripes on both hulls, all new rigging, rebuilt the boom hardware, fixing the beat up daggers, tuned up the rudder castings and the rudders, rebuilt the furler, new main and jib sheets, new lacing fillers for the tramp and new lacing, redid all the lighting on the trailer and added new rollers... whew!

I hope to get her on the water in 2 weeks... finally!
(see what happens when you're separated from your boat for 13 years!)

Typical tune up detailing here on H-16. wet sanded hulls to 600 grit finish, went over all connections with fine toothed comb, R2'd rivets, pins etc, cleaned and recaulked normal spots for water intrusion and cleaned sails. Now headin down to Padre Island for 3 or 4 days of surf launching and some great sailing!

Yes you have BigH. Jib cars just got here, so I know what you'll be doing to your Hobie today.

Let's see some pics of what you guys are doing to your Hobies.

I slicked down the 16 hulls with some 303 Aerospace hull conditioner and tightened the battens in anticipation of Tropical Storm Faye coming to a beach in N. Florida soon.

I have been treating my new to me '02 Getaway pretty well.
front tramp
mainsheet per spec
Amsteel jibsheet
Carbo mainsheet block, (cleat end)
Carbo down haul
carbo clew blocks
2mm furling line with yellow braided jacket
trap lines
main tramp lacing
Hobie snorkel
UK sausage sail bag
Carnai dual roller upgrade
collapsable boarding ladder
custom hull graphics are coming
and maybe the most important thing... a proper tie down system for the boat yard so she does not meet the fate of my 17!

Her name is Cheap Seats and she is pretty happy.

I have been thinking of what it might be like to take my H16 out in the remnants of Fay on Thursday. I'm in the NOrthern Gulf of Mexico so it will be a big land breeze. Does this count as a float plan? I may need one.

I hope you didn't accidentally seal that cat in the hull!

I installed this "cat escape hatch" last night:

Standard answer R. We're currently mining the raw materials to make your parts. I'll let you know as soon as we refine the ore!
