Both sound like good finds to me. Personally, I think the Getaway sounds like a better deal though, at only $700 more for the same year. The base price of the Getaway is over 2k more than a Wave when new. Does the Getaway have wings? If so, those will add probably another $1k to the value.
Bieng sailed 12 times vs new for either model would show negligible wear. Maybe some slight scratches from beaching, etc. Sails, if handled and stored carefully, would show no perceptible wear and tear. My Wave has been sailed close to 100x, the sail shows only slighly more wrinkling than new.
It may come down to what you are really looking for in a boat. Do you want a larger, faster, but much heavier craft to sail w/ friends / family, or a fun easily single-handled rig.
Either way, you cannot go wrong. But inspect both carefully, like any other used boat.
