Considering my lake, which would be best for a person of 178 lbs, 32" inseam, 6' height
Revo, Outback, or ProAngler? ... I guess I'm hopng ProAngler, because that's what I now plan to buy.

In all honesty, it isn't like that ALL the time, just when you are a few miles from getting back to the launch site., and in Summer, and the other 3 seasons.

lol I actually have used an Adventure out there, not the AI though, but it's a bit narrow for me. I need a skosh more seat room for my cowboy cut jeans and big webbed feet.

I was gonna get a Sport, but ruled it out ... narrowing it down to Revo, Outback, or ProAngler? ... I guess I'm hopng ProAngler, because that's what I now plan to buy.

I know it will rock n roll, but I saw that they had tested it in "rough water" .... so am asking.

I know Revo can handle it, but wider would be great for me and possibly Outback might, not sure ... I
m just hoping Pro will, cause I can easily move rudder control. and reach my tankwell without feeling tippy, like I did in Adventure in winds, and stand when I reach a wind protected cove.

The Pro Angler isn't out yet, but is due out next month according to the dealers. It looks like a very exciting boat -- am looking forward to checking it out also!

Looking at your video, that doesn't look like good kayaking weather, at least for launching. I guess the best strategy is to go upwind before the winds come up! Remember, the Pro Angler has a larger profile and will be subject to windage accordingly. The good news -- as long as the wind is behind you, you can always use your boat as a sail!8)

yeah, we get a lot of wind here, drift anchors come in handy.

I'm lucky in that I'm actually on the Highland Lakes, a "chain" of lakes connected by dams, 3 of the lakes within 11 miles of me .
Some are S-shaped, so I can go to a more protected area of some of the same lakes, until the wind shifts, and you sometimes get that wind coming back.

I'm not too proud to land elsewhere and borrow a phone though, lol lots of resort property homeowners are lakeside at some of them, one gpoes throgh the middle of Austin, Texas, other connected lakes here are so out in the country you'd probably be able to flag down some hunters.... wait, I hear pigs squeeling <reference from the movie Deliverance>

A kayak tourney was postponed today due to wind, bass tourney on boats with 30 mph winds, gusts to 50 or so was held though.

That Pro Angler looks right up my alley. That is to bad that they canceled the Yak tourney. Wasn't that on Bastrop? Hey I haven't seen a Apalach post in a while. The Angler is going to be perfect for Christmas Bay. 38" wide I think my outback has alot of room. It is a little on the heavy side for most but I will be putting it on a trailer, Upright so it will be easy for me. I would like to learn more about the rudder and controls. I will give my wife my outback and get a Angler.

yes, Bastrop tourney was rescheduled from Sat to Sunday, then the big 1,200 acre fire near it closed highway 71, due to winds blowing fire everywhere.

Besides the Highland Lakes, I also look forward to using mine in Christmas Bay, Kemah/Seabrook, Clear Lake, because I still have a place to stay down there ( in Pasadena, TX ) from when I moved up here.

Should be fun when I visit up in Lubbock too, if they ever get a real lake with fish in it, until then I can use use it to flyfish on their tiny city ponds lo

My other kayak is pretty flat bottomed, so Trailer I just made is a 5x8 nothing but a sheet of plywood (might add astroturf/artificial grass on it)and lots of eyebolts for tie downs. trailering it (with the cart) should require no real lifting.

I have made up my mind. The Pro Angler it is. OEX in Oceanside made a you tube. Still want to know more about the rudder. Cant wait til Roadrunner gets one He tells everything just like it is. I just heard on the radio about a bunch of peoples out buildings are burning around Bastrop. Be safe.

Nice video, but let's get real here--no one in his/her right mind would take a yak (or even a small powerboat) out in those kinds of conditions. Those of us on the Florida Gulf Coast could easily show a video of hurricane or severe thunderstorm conditions, but that has little to no relevance as to what type of boat/yak I would buy.

Personally I have been caught out in a heavy duty thunderstorm like that with about 10 inches of rain/hour. So what did I do--I got the heck out of there and steered my Sport for the nearest haul out beach to wait it out. As is the nature of the weather here, the storm passed in about 20 minutes and we were back out fishing after dumping about 1-2 gallons of water that came in around the hatches and thru the rudder line openings. The alternative is to simply call it a day and hope for better weather conditions tomorrow. One feature of the Sport and OB that I like is the high freeboard, as compared to the AI or the BigA where you may take on a lot of water if you get caught out in a large thunderstorm with a lot of chop. For example, here's a pic of what happens when a hurricane comes ashore 200 miles to the west of us, but we still got eight feet of storm surge over the ground here. Be keerful out there!
