Whats up with getting parts for a Tiger?

I have ordered several parts for my Tiger since last July. In virtually every case I have not gotten the parts. One part in perticular is a Daggerboard Hold Down Kit, part number 99506060. I also tried to get a forstay and finnaly gave up and had one made at a local rigging shop.

I have reorded my parts again and was told maybe I will get them the next time a container comes in from Europe. How F-ng hard is it to get a couple of pieces of plastic.

If I can't get the support and parts I need from HOBIE, maybe I should just order a different brand of boat.

Note: it not like I am cheap, I waste alot of my cash with this company, two Tigers an FX One and five kayaks. The least you could do is get the damn parts in from Europe.

Parts are difficult to get from France. We received part of this kit but apparently not the entire assembly. Ordering can be difficult due to the language and distance, but this is certanily too long to have been waiting.

Jacques will be on this with France and our purchasing guy again Monday.

Mike, just measure your current forestay and have Hobie make a new one. At least I'd assume my dealer got it though Hobie, probably not the cheapest route, but I'm more concerned with keeping my dealer and Hobie in business than a misc rigging company.

As far as waiting for parts, would you guys check on my bridle, it to has been on order since early last summer. Maybe Sohn picked it up, but I haven't heard anything if he has.

Matt,
I can understand somewhat longer lead-times on overseas deliveries. However, I do not think the language nor the distance is at the root of this problem.
We're all ordering our products on a global scale these days.
Many companies have international online ordering.

I would guess this is more of a corporate politics issue.
The result is that Hobie is weakening its very loyal customer base with continuing quality and delivery issues. At a time when any business should be considered valuable.

I too ordered the same part as Mike did several months ago. I too have yet to see the part, or get a date that I could expect delivery.

Karl is right to state we should be concerned with keeping our manufacturer and dealer network in business.
But at some point the customer will lose patience and seek other work around solutions. Everyone has a different tolerance towards waiting. Over the winter might not be so bad; yet when the water turns back to a liquid; will you be so patient?

That depends on if whether or not the stick stays up, and how hard it smashes me in the head when it comes down from a failed bridle. :D :( Realistically, I'm really patient when things are out of my hands, if I can actually do something about it, I'm a raging pain in the rear.

I just had a thought, if I want a new main/spin for Havasu, I better order those b-otches now.

Keep in contact with your dealer concerning parts orders. This is the dealers responsibility. Our dealers prefer to be the point of contact to keep confusion to a minimum.
