Trampoline starting to come loose

I have a Hobie 20 with a trampoline that is still in great shape, but the edging is starting to pull out of its sleeve at the rear right corner. This is also causing the trampoline line to come unwound from the rear trampoline rod. Does anyone know how to fix this?

This is a common issue with a simple inexpensive fix. There is a grommet in the rear corner of the trampoline. Use a small shackle (pin and ring type) to secure the tramp to the aluminum grove that the bolt rope slides in.

First you will have to unlace the rear of the tramp and slide it out (untie the jib leads...). Use a padded vice grip to squeeze the tramp groove if the line pulling out has made it spead a bit. Use care not to crack or damage the track. After the tramp is slid back into place, lace it up as normal. After the tramp is tight, use the bell of the shackle as a drill guide and drill the track and trampoline bolt rope. Remove the drill and replace it with the pin. Secure the pin with the ring (ring on the underside of the rail). Now the rear corner of your tramp is secure.

I have all four corners of the tram secured this way. It keeps any corner from coming out. Once the rope starts to pull, it can "zip" out so secure all four corners.

Had similar problem with new tramp on my 1986 H-17. Slot was apparently wider on older models. Used Trentec Tramp Clamp's, see Hobie Catalog, part 2066. Problem solved. Installed on both top and bottom at each corner.

I have ordered that trampoline clamp, but how do I get the tramp back into the slot? Do I need special tools for this or do I just use a flathead?

Remove laces, slip tramp back into place. Slide Tramp Clamps in place. You can use a screwdriver to help slide clamps. I installed top and bottom, all corners, and at midpoints. Then relace. An old fix was to add a wire inside the rope inside the tramp, to make it larger. The Tramp Clamp works better.
