New Forum Software - Lost Posts

The forums admin area was hacked last night and we have had to go to a backup file from last night. Anything from 2AM on was lost.

Sorry! At least we have the lastest forum software now!

"Hacked"? Why would someone want to hack into a forum full of crusty, old men? Was it the Nacra guys?

Thanks for getting it back up fast. I was going through withdrawals.

I wondered what happened. The new software and all. Now us old people have to get used to the change, but it will be good.

Is there a problem with the search function? Nothing show up before April 17.

Seems to be working now. Funny... seems you can not search for something simple as just "cam". That was my first test.

I was going over some of my ealier posts and noticed my initial post of my thread: "My first sailboat....a Hobie Wave" (January 11, 2009, Wave Forum) has been recently butchered, yet the last time it shows edited was January 17.

Post deleted - suspiciously corrupted.

We had already used backups to recover the site. What you are seeing is an issue with some special characters. I saw that with some of my posts and the spanish forum title. Seems the new software is not reading these correctly or a font is different. I edited the post to try and recover the original meaning for you. Let me know how I did.

Further corrupted / edited? Or just from the initial problem?

Hackers go after anything they can.. usually they just fill it up with spam/malware links for unsuspecting people to click on.

Glad you guys had a backup and the new version looks good! Some of the forums I admin, I had to lock down the membership signup because hackers had bots attacking it with account creations.. it was crazy.
