Today we got the Hobie out of the garage and into position for cleaning & repairs. I have FSR cleaner for the lake staining. Dolphonite 1 step cleaner/wax. And a West Everclear polyester resin repair kit. My sails are repaired but I haven't gotten them back yet. I am so pysched! Last year we didn't get the boat out until the beginning of August.
I just built a set of wheels. The boat is in a garage about 500' from the lake. In the past four of us carried it thru the woods to a beach that is only about 200' away. Now 2 of us can just roll it down the driveway. I used the Hobie 16 Hull Template to shape the cradles. Each cart weighs 33 lbs. They cost about $150 for the pair. It was incredibly easy to move. We don't have sand to deal with-just gravel, rocks, and muddy grass.

If you aren't sailing on the edge, you're taking up too much room.

Why not just get a set of new/used beach wheels? :o Zud works well for removing lake stains.

There really aren't many hobie's around this area, so I don't think they'd be easy to find. Also I need more ground clearance than the wheeleze wheels give and there are rocks sticking up that would hit the axle.
