I need a new starboard hobie 18 hull, the hull is not soft but there is a big bulg in the side from delamination. The guy I bought it from tried to fix it by filling it with foam, so now it's hard to fly a hull on the starboard side b/c of the extra weight. I was thinking about fixing the bulg myself and taking the foam out. This might be hard and time consuming, with the summer on the way i dont want to be stuck with a big project. Suggestions please!!! Should I try and fix it or buy a hull instead?

1.) Buy a new hull / boat

2.) Buy a case of beer

3.) Invite your friends over

4.) Burn the old hull (I don't advise doing this in the suburbs or anywhere near a structure)

If you can get a hull then replace it. I would attempt the repair as well, much easier disassembled. If you can repair it you will have a back-up or a trade should the other fail.

The Hobie dealer in Myrtle had one out back. Sail and Ski Connection, Charlie Belisari is the owner and the guy you should speak to. I can't get the number to roll up in my mental roll-a-dex at this time. Look him up online.
