I think you two `ol Aussie salts are letting your disdain for Captain Aubrey cloud your judgment & influence your opinion of the movie. In fact -I`m beginning to doubt you watched "Master" at all! LOL
I`m hearing there may be a sequel.
Thanks Philip1el-I`ll check that out.

He's not an Aussie! He's from New Zealand. (They're welcome to him).

"Born in New Zealand, Russell has made his home in Australia since he was a small child"
Got that from his biography chrisj
Guess that pretty much means he`s "Australian"

To The Ends Of The Earth is $7.95 on Amazon.
Horatio Hornblower dvd collectors edition (entire set)$39.95

Gee, we can't help it if he chooses to hang around in Australia. We only have refined, well behaved movie stars like Mel Gibson. Next thing you'll be claiming Neil Young is American.

Go for it, Aledal and let me know what you thought of it. For the sheer misery of 18th century travel, the seasickness, endlessly rolling around on the ocean, looking at your glass of port coasting across the table the only escape to remain 'pissed' for weeks on end!!!!....the horror of having to share space with people for months ....Geez.....we are so darned lucky.....I could be at Heathrow (stuck in Blighty for the next 3 months) from where i live within a couple of hours and from thereon to Aus what would it be? an 18 hour flight??????...all told around 24 hours...what did it take them...6 months????!!!!!

I`m beginning to become perturbed at your attempts at American sarcasm sir.

Forgot about Water World. It did have its moments but I thought it was a little far fetched brandon. I mean-most of the world covered that deep in water so quickly that no one knows where land is?
Captain Ron was a blast though!

Back when I was an Admiral I could have relieved him of his command, or sent him into a battle he couldn't possibly win!
Now I'm just an Old Salt mutiny would be my only option. :(

Its the thought that counts stringy.
