No contest mate.......Gippsland lakes and rivers affords the very best bream fishing in Australia as does Marlo, Bemm River and Mallacoota. We catch trout within 10 ks of Bairnsdale and the Victorian Alps, just an hour away, affords the very best trout fishing territory.
Now...mmm...I think they are limited to either catching or get caught by white pointers up there on the Central NSW coast-line....LOL..but you choose....Pirate :D

Gippsland is indeed a very beautiful part of the world Roller, but if you're stuck with Gosford, you'll just have to console yourself with sailing in Broken Bay, Brisbane Water, Pittwater, Tuggerah Lakes, Lake Macquarie, Sydney Harbour and the Pacific Ocean.....all year round.

Well the $3600 was only seen once by a reliable witness, an older guy that had already brought one at Ranger at a higher price, not sure if he was mistaken though???,,,must have been a big sale if its true.

A kayak dealer near my place has his last one at $3999, said he will not be getting any more,,,so it might be a last one discount deal to move it out ?

All i can say is if folks want a kayak and maybe considering sailing but not sure ,,buy the whole lot straight away as one package if you can afford it, i have decided to upgrade to the Adventure kit and my best price was is around $2400 , aparently it costs considerly more normally,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,not sure how it all works,,i have to get the bigger mast hole drill etc,,,but if i got the whole package first up a few months ago,,it would have been around $4000-$4200 or whatever,,,now its Adventure hull $2600 +$2400 for upgrade = $5000 an extra $800.,,

So if you can afford it buy the whole kit and kaboodle first up i think,,next will be Tramps ,,another $400+ when does it end ?,,lol

I guess one good thing is the sail will come in West Coast Eagle colours,,great to see so many East Coasters supportng the Eagles as well with the same sail,,lol

:D :D . Now I know your joking Shorty. Good advice on buying the complete package first up though mate. I love the fact you can use them for fishing sailing paddling and peddling at your own discretion so why limit those choices to save just a few dollars.....Pirate

I believe Ranger are still at $3999 but i don't shop there so i don't look (to many young inexperienced kids behind the counter in a lot of their stores), i guess the $3600 comes about with the 20-30% store wide sales just like BCF does.

I guess the smart thing for me to do would have been sell the 2009 Adventure for $2000 then its only around another $2000 to buy a brand new complete set up, i guess the price will be long forgotten once i hit the water :D ,i would have loved to afford the tramps straight off though,,cheers,,

Ahhh, the ray of light beaming down from heaven is a nice touch. You can also take comfort from the fact that a dune AI like that would have cost over $AUS 5,000 in Australia, so you didn't pay that big a premium.
Enjoy..........

With massive regret i'm cancelling my order for a Hobie AI, reason, I've been on forums and discovered that in Australia you can buy an AI for $3,600 thats Australian dollars! overhere the exact same model is £2,999 thats a massive $6,600+ Australian dollars! and here in the UK you wont get a RRP discount!

I want the i12s, that's 1799 in the US, 2430 in the UK, and 3084 in Sweden! All prices in USD. What gives? I haven't called the Norwegian dealers yet from fear of getting a heart attack. I could actually fly to the US, buy it there, and bring it back myself, and still save money, including oversize luggage surcharges (unless the Norwegian customs people got me, then I would have to pay a 20% import toll, 25% VAT, and get a public flogging).

I posted a new thread on this but it seems admin approval is required. Here's to hoping it gets through so I can get some useful feedback. I'm not prepared to cash out 70% more than the Americans.
