All:
I am contemplating replacing my sails on my 1980 Hobie (I think they are original). Can I order sails from Hobie that match one of the sail patterns available for my year? Specifically, I would like to get the Hot Flash pattern.
Also, does Hobie do custom mods like adding a flat head?
And how about the material? Do they do both Mylar and Dacron?

I would prefer to have a Hobie sail but if they can't provide these customizations, I may have to go elsewhere.

Thanks!

We do not alter from the class approved patterns and materials, so no flat heads or Mylar available on a H16 sail from Hobie Cat. We also have stock of only the latest material colors. You can see from our offerings in the catalog or website (sail color page) as to what those are.

Grey (Silver) is available and is a standard offering... not custom.

I know that Hobie Cat volume forces them to purchase sail material in bulk and make the sails in those colors for a couple of years, but I always thought it would be cool if one day they started to offer retro sail patterns.

Bring back the Boomer, Tequila Sunrise and other iconic sails!

Probably would be expensive and not a money maker for Hobie...but that would just be way cooooool! :D

Maybe for a couple of years do some retro sail colors. Bet you would sell some to people with older boats, that really dont want white sails. some of the full panel colors dont need to do the multi color single panels

I just sold a H16 that had the Fantasia sails they were so amazing everyone loved them on the beach people would come by just to take pictures. My new boat has the hobie fever sails.

Just picked up a 1981 Hobie ($200) last week with Tequila Sunrise sails that are in excelent shape. Sold the trailer for $100 and parted the boat out.

I feel like one the lottery.
