Can you get it back to the dealer easily? Hopefully they didn't glue it, but they should be willing to help you take it apart if they put it together too solidly. Plus it puts the burden on them if something breaks.

As for storing, you can tie the mast to your garage ceiling, so it doesn't take up two car stalls.

I can relate to your need to undue the mast for indoor storage , however , I find no need to place my 2006 Wave inside the garage. This boat is completely indestructible and totally weather proof. I live in Florida and admittedly worried somewhat at first over ultraviolet harm and corrosion on certain parts until I noticed there were no harmful effects on the Wave due to outdoor conditions. Make sure your homeowners is paid up and set it outside,if able and don't worry!

Very happy Wave owner: Blast thru!!!!!

I see your point Daytona but I am worried about ice damaging the mast. I would like to keep it in the garage (which is heated) and that way I can keep it out of the snow and cold temperatures. I already have the rest of the boat apart and stored away and I found a way to hook the mast to the ceiling of the garage. This will work for the winter but regardless, it would be nice to be able to take the mast apart.

Oh well, there is always next year.

Thanks for everyone who posted ideas.

When i first bought my wave used, the mast had never been taken apart and it was stuck. I sprayed some silicon spray into the joints and tapped on tang with a block of wood and a mallet while someone held the other end. The shock got the mast moving slowly a little a time. Keep spraying and tapping. Once apart my mast was full of gunk and grim. A good cleaning a light mist of silicon spray makes it come apart easy now. Dry lube would probably be ok also. I keep a rubber mallet in my box of tools with the trailer just in case it gets stubborn.
