i have a 06 outback that has a cracked cam post. what can be done with it? warranty? repair? replace? talk to me. I cant go without my hobie for long. please help.

Jack, welcome to the forum. I presume you're referring to the cam columns and that your problem looks something like this?

There are a couple of epoxies you can use. One is 3M ScotchWeld DP 8018 and the other is Locktite 3030. Here's a link to more info. 8)

yes that looks like the problem i have . just one post is cracked.nice to hear it can be fixed but im hoping to have it replaced. i get quite a bit of water in the hull due to this one crack.im not using it until it gets repaired. hoping for a speedy solution.

No solution until a claim is filed, of course, so hoping you have contacted a dealer and placed a warranty claim. It is certainly possible we could extend warranty coverage on something like this. With a pro-rated cost on a hull if out of the normal 2 year warranty period.

thanks matt i,ll wait till claim goes in and see what happens. remy i,ll fish out of the drifter if i have too. cant miss the fall run.
