I have a h16 with a comp mast broken in 1/2. If I change the mast base
can I use a H17 sport mast to replace it. If not does anyone
have a good method to splice a broken mast. :(

I would think it should be easy to find a H16 mast used and I rarely see H17 mast for sale you might be able to get more cash for that H17 mast than it would cost to get a used H16 mast people are always parting out H16. You should post an ad in craigslist and see what kind of responce you get. There was a used H17 on Ebay a couple of months back cheap because the mast was broken so I looked all over and could not locate one so I did not bid on the boat it sold for $1500 and it was a very clean later model H17 my point is that H17 mast is a rare find. Good Luck!

There is a H17 for sale here locally with both hulls damaged. If the mast
are the same I could use it for my H16. I have not seen any H16 mast for
sale locally.
