Purchased a NEW revo in October 2009, the ruder was not operative from the factory. I took it back to the dealer and I thought he fixed it. I went out on the water for the first time on 11/7/09. While on the water the ruder could not be pulled up or down using the up and down pulls. I need to have this problem corrected properly. Do I have to take it back to the same dealer? I am willing to go the factory in Oceanside, if I have to (I want a product that I can use). This is a new kayak which had problems out of the factory.

What are my options and can you let me know who is the most qualified to fix the ruder? I am disappointed in the poor quality control and poor service so far.

This is my fourth Hobie vessel

The rudder system is very simple, so should be rather easy to fix. Get it to a dealer or bring it to the factory. We'll sort it out for you.

Please give the name of the dealers best qualified to fix this problem. If I can not fix at the dealer please let me how to set up an appointment to have it fixed at the factory (hopefully I can wait while it is being fixed).

Where are you located? We can also talk your dealer through this. Tell them to call us.

Near Oceanside...

Dana Point Jet Ski, Oceanside (OEX) and San Diego (Fast Lane) are qualified dealers. Dealer Finder: http://www.hobiecat.com/company/dealer.html

You can wait for a repair here at the factory. Should take just a few minutes for the most common issues. To set that up, call Brendan in warranty (760) 758-9100 x 277

You have three dealers within 18 miles:

IRVINE, CA 92614
Phone: 1-949-261-0200
E-mail: [email protected]
Distance: 7.0 Mile(s)

PADDLE POWER
1500 W. BALBOA BLVD. #101
NEWPORT BEACH, CA 92663
Phone: 1-949-675-1215

I know the dealer in Long Beach or Dana Point can handle the issue with no problem. We may have to talk to the other guys once they see your boat.
