Main halyard

I've decided to replace my main halyard since the distance between my last stop and shackle pin is approximately 6" greater than what I was told it should be by someone at Mariner Sails. This is why my main doesn't appear to be all the way up even though it is on the last stop. I generally prefer to use original Hobie parts but was wondering what it takes to run the Hobie halyard through the masthead sheave.....or can it be done? Not sure what it takes at this point. I was looking at the Sailsport Marine halyard which states it can be threaded through the sheave. Has anyone used this brand before? Any thoughts? BTW, I have an all aluminum mast. No comptip. thats how they all are...you thread it through, then swage it yourself....i make the loop (to tie the rope halyard) then put two swage fittings (from west marine) on it....Use a swage tool, or a big flat head screw driver and a hamer....just crimp it down TIGHT!

The Sailsport Marine site states "Loop on end is without a thimble so it can be threaded through the masthead sheave." No other tools needed I suppose. It doesn't have the thimble so the loop can be compressed enough to thread through the sheave.
