Hey guys a have a livewell pump question. I don't own one yet and my dealer doesn't have one in stock. I have watched the video but I can't see clearly. The video says that the livewell uses a Tsunami 500 pump.

My question is.... is this a normal bilge pump or has it been modified? Does it have the base removed from it? Or does the whole pump fit into a pocket inside the livewell? Can the replacement Tsunami cartridge be installed if the pump dies?

Thank you,

Chris

try this and have a look. the whole thing can be removed easily. I'm sure a substitute pump could be fit with a lil work and some of the originals mounting parts. i have the HOBIE Live well and i have no problems with it. Also a trick you might want to try is to put a ballon cut on the end over the pump outlet/fill pipe to allow shutting the pump of without letting the water run out like a big drain. the balloon will collapse and clog the pipe preventing the water from running directly out. Takes a few trys to get the balloon hole the right size but it works ok for the most part.

Thank you for the close up of the pump. It is threaded on the bottom... sweet!
