2017 Hobie ®Mini-Mega North American Championships

This will be a 10 day event for the Hobie Wave, 14, 16 Youth, Women, 17, 18 North American Championship. Event Dates: August 2 – 12 2017 (Arrival Wednesday, Thursday thru Saturday racing, lay day Sunday, then Monday thru Friday racing) 3 days of racing for the Wave, Hobie 14, Hobie 16 Youth and Women classes (Thursday – Saturday) followed by a lay day and then 5 days of racing for the Hobie 17, Hobie 18 classes in the beautiful Atlantic Ocean. Five (5) boats will be required to be preregistered 45 days prior to event per class. There will be a Welcome Party on Wednesday evening and a Final Banquet on Saturday evening for the 3-day event.

The Atlantic Ocean, well, it is an ocean with waves, surf, swell, a consistent sea breeze and water temps in the mid to upper 70’s this time of year. There are numerous hotels/motels, rental homes, nearby campgrounds, restaurants, bars and shops of every kind. Additionally we are planning on having our own Hobie RV Park right on the beach; front and center to all the attractions.

Instead of sailing in the ocean with the boardwalk of Wildwood as the backdrop we will be sailing in the Sandy Hook Bay with the New York City skyline as a backdrop.
