After four qualification tournaments throughout Europe, the European Team for the Hobie Fishing Worlds 7 is taking shape. Check out the first 4 members representing their country during the prestigious tournament.

Leo Pegels (NL) won the second edition of the Hobie Predator Open held back in March. He was the best anglers after two days of competitive fishing leaving 49 anglers behind him and claiming the first spot for team Europe in the Hobie Fishing Worlds 7. Leo managed to get a stunning 500 centimeter of fish. “I’m really excited to be qualified! I worked hard these two days and it paid off.” He said after winning the event.

Ian Pickering (UK) got the top spot in Dizzy’s London International Kayak Fishing Festival held on the beautiful Wraysbury Lakes. 70 anglers from all over the world traveled down to London to participate. Ian measured 300 centimeters of fish and this proved to be enough to not only win the event but also qualify for the Hobie Fishing Worlds 7.

Jesper Aksvig (DK) battled for the win in the East Coast Kayak Competition in Linköping, Sweden. A lot of pikes surfaced at Lake Roxen during this two-day kayak fishing mayhem! Jesper, part of the Danish delegation caught an amazing 519 centimeters of Pike which earned him the first place and a spot in team Europe.

Salah el Barbouchi (DE) is the newest addition to team Europe for the Hobie Fishing Worlds 7. Last weekend, Salah secured the title in the 2017 World Predator Classic Kayak Event. After three days of fishing and three top 4 standings (1st, 4th and 2nd), Salah received the Champions Trophy on the prize giving ceremony. His measuring board saw a total of 477 centimeters of fish.

There are more qualifiers coming up the next period starting with the 2° Campionato Bolsena in Kayak e 2° Campionato Italiano Hobie Fishing. This tournament is fished on the beautiful Lake Bolsena in Italy from 14-17 July. Competitors will target Black Bass, Perch and Pike. The winner of the event qualifies for HFW7. The 4th Hobie Fishing Euro’s will be held 8-10 September at the Vinkeveense Plassen in the Netherlands. Competitors will fish for Pike and Perch in the former Hobie Fishing Worlds arena.
