It was great meeting you too Eric! Also the two Stephens!
I'm not going to lie- the fact that i solo got the boat out of a turtle is pretty impressive....
To bad the weather man lied- it was 18-24 out there today!
Few things I learned....
a. dont forget to take the pin out of the mast step. There goes $20 something.
b. make sure your righting line is up to snuff. I knew that one would break, i just didnt wan't it to break today, and it did

c. Soloing the boat is hard in lots of wind...at least for a "hobie" beginner. I couldnt figure out how to hold a course, adjust the main sheet, and keep the slack sheet out of the water. Not to mention hold steady and get out on a trap. Usually i have someone hold everything for me. Eventually I got it...
d. Having the right size jib sail makes your boat a lot faster
e. Foot straps in the back of the hulls makes a HUGE difference when trapping out!
f. If people say a single person can't bring a hobie out of a turtle on their own, it's BS! I really think the fact that my mast is sealed made it a whole lot easier...
g. getting tea-bagged with a crew is funny....getting tea-bagged solo is un-nerving because you loose control
Overall I had a great time with everyone! I can't wait to get out there again with a crew....i think thats the last time ill be soloing in that much wind...10-15 is fine.....18-mid 20's is another thing....
*** on a side note, i still dont understand why the boat goes turtle. The mast floats fine. Earlier in the day when i flipped, it was on its side for a good twenty minutes....the ONLY time it turtles, is when the boat goes down, I flip it back up, and it continues to flip around and splashes down the other way...then proceeds to turtle....
