I just ordered a 2015 PA14(my 1st Kayak)from ACK, can't wait to get it, but I also ordered the Hobie Heavy Duty Plug in Kayak Cart. Where exactly do the cracks/breaks occur so I can detect them hopefully b4 the warranty runs out :?:

I guess I'm lucky as I own 2 of the Heavy Duty carts with the large black tires and have experienced zero issues. But I don't use them to pull a loaded PA long distances.

I did add a small section of PVC on each shaft under the black collars to ensure the tire clearance was never an issue. The collars never seemed to hold right and always slipped down on the metal shafts. :D

Matt, here's a link to the Youtube of the Australian cart (trolley) by David Laird to which I was referring:

Ranger:
I doubt highly that any new carts in anyones inventory are the old defective frames. That problem was cleared up a couple years ago. The older frames with the potentially weak welds are easy to spot, they have a small mig weld spot attaching the frame to the axle usually just in one or two spots. The newer inproved frames are tig welded all the way around each axle (really obvious). Even the older frames with the spot mig welds are highly unlikely to break except under extreme load.
Hope this helps
FE

Nice! That is some very custom work there.

I I've been on the YouTube channel of David Laird and no reference to how to buy or order one of these awesome trolleys. I want to order one when I get my TI. Any reference to where I can obtain one for myself?

I can attest to very high quality of the new cart. I bought "frame-only" option last year, as I already had the 30cm wheeleez. Top notch. Nice welds, solid (!) 1/2" stainless steel axle.
