That could be the case, but I'm not sure. This picture doesn't show it but it is like that the length of the rug, in places where I don't sit and it is not like that on both sides. I had that rail smooth as a baby's bottom before I put those rugs on, maybe it was caused by the adhesive I may contact my dealer and see what they think it may be. Most likely I"ll just bite the bullet and go ahead and switch to neoprene anyway. Thanks for all of ya'll replies.

Hey Doug,

I finally have an album on thebeachcats dot com. It wasn't exactly really easy. But then again, when that technology wave came through, I didn't exactly catch it. I think now I'm waiting for the next set to come through

After I'm done with my little to do list I'll put up a pic of my cat fully rigged. She's kind of in pieces right now.

Hey Doug,

Been working on the sitting rows. My entire back is a little stiff but the lower back pain is dissapating. I'm sure the stiffness will wear off in a week or so. The typical reaction of muscles. Better muscle than nerve. Thanks a lot for the info.

Maybe someone was using it to rub up against, check for animal hair on the rug.

You know, the animal idea is actually not so far fetched. This area of NC is absolutely infested with deer, all the way to the coast really. Just yesterday there were about seven grazing in the field about 120 yards away. I've even seen tracks near our fruit trees which are only about 20 yards from our front door. It's not entirely impossible that they wouldn't be rubing up against the rail.

You guys are waaaaay overthinking this...

It's just the wear and tear on the rail carpet. Just pull it off, sand/acetone off the old contact cement, and put new carpet on. It is available at Lowes for $cheap.

Thank you. She still has a ways to go, but at least I think that hull is ready to be sailed on again . That was my most immediate concern. Now I think I'll probably try to restore some of the dulled surface and fill in some of the scratches near the bottom of the hull, along with that laundry list of upgrades/replacements. I'll probably be asking for advice on that next but I think I'll give all you guys a break for a while .

As for the wetsuit, I'll have to ask her opinion on that. I think she is looking for something a littel different. I was really thinking of something more like the farmer john type. She is pretty petite, and I'd like to take her somewhere where she could maybe get sized up a little more accurately. I kind of wished I'd of done the same before I got mine. I was told that the one I got was kind of in the uppward end of how big they come. It's too bad those things dont come in tall sizes. I would love about another inch or two of material on the back.

The bottom is a Farmer John type with long legs. I will try to take a photo this wekeend.

I have to dissagree strongly with you on this one, I have adjusted the angel more than a couple of times and never had the problems you and others talk about. You do have to be carefull, but you do not have to thake the screws all the way to make the adjustment.

Also, I got a becket on both the top and bottom blocks which allows me to got 8 to one if I ever do get a 18'. I currently have it set up 7:1 on my 16 and love it.

Skipshot:

I have had two sets of Harkens. Old 5 to 1 on 1976 16 and current 1986 with the 2.25" Carbo's. I have never had an adjustment problem. Some of the blocks on the Mystere would strip out and Harken just replaced them. You may want to cont Harken?

The 194 is less money and (contrary to some opinion) easier to adjust.

Buy whatever you want to, but the 194 works better than the carborachetmatic, I've used both.
