Misfit - Don't get that lower block! I did and regret it. Why? Adjusting the cam angle is a b!tch. First you must unscrew the side plates, but don't lose the itty bitty nut holding the two sides together, which means adjustments must be done over a table or floor or (keep your fingers crossed while doing it) tramp, because you don't want to lose that nut in the sand or grass or gravel. If you don't lose the nut, then you get to take off the side plates and rotate the cam to the spot you want, but make sure all 500 or so holes line up so you can put the side plates back on, and do this without losing the cam angle you want. Then you screw the whole thing back together. But if you're a set-it-and-forget-it sailor and you get it at a good price, then maybe this block will work for you.
I have to dissagree strongly with you on this one, I have adjusted the angel more than a couple of times and never had the problems you and others talk about. You do have to be carefull, but you do not have to thake the screws all the way to make the adjustment.
Also, I got a becket on both the top and bottom blocks which allows me to got 8 to one if I ever do get a 18'. I currently have it set up 7:1 on my 16 and love it.
