I did some 600 grit wet sanding then used 3M Super Duty rubbing compound (pep boys $21) with that cheap buffer from Harbor Freight on spot in the back of the hull that the oxidation was also bad to test results. Here is a after photo I forgot to take a before pic and I still need to buy some wax. http://www.flickr.com/photos/41605241@N02/3863204331/

It's way better you can't see from that pic but there is a few very small spots that may need a little more sanding but I'm afraid to sand it too much. I hope the wax will make it shine like the rest of the boat. But I am very pleased it's worth the hard work what an amazing boat! Thanks for the tips everyone!

Is there anything special that should be done to remove oxidation from the non-skid portions of the deck? I could see wetsanding being ineffective, but will rubbing compound and a power buffer get into the depressions?

My boat was only lightly oxidized on the decks and non slip area but I did buff with compound and it did clean right up.
I took my boat out twice last weekend and now my non slip area on the deck already has some white looking film in it must be something from the water but I waxed this area real good so I was surprised to see it dirty already.
