Anglers from across Australia converged on the west coast of the country, bringing with them a sense of excitement and anticipation for the three days of competition and Pre-Fish Day that lay ahead.

The Welcome and Briefing in the resort function room, that overlooks the event site and marina was the angler’s first chance to get together, and relax before the Lowrance Pre-Fish Day which began today at 8 am (AWST) or 11 am (AEDT).

The evening covered the introduction of each angler, the announcement of the Angler of the Year (AOY), the teams to compete in the Sootie Barra Bash in North Queensland and the announcement of the team to represent Australia in the 2018 Hobie Fishing World Championship in Amal, Sweden in May.

Anglers were up for breakfast early this morning and after an on-site briefing headed out for the Lowrance Pre-Fish Day.
