  • Product Support Representative

    Overview

    The Product Support Representative is a highly customer facing role, working to help resolve customer’s product issues and get the most out of their Hobie product experience. This position will typically support existing or longer-term customers through potential product defects or damage but may also help customers with technical product knowledge. This role provides a highly customer centric experience for our retail, dealer, and internal customers, working to quickly resolve any issue from initial documentation to resolution.

    This position provides an integral part of our quality assurance process, helping to identify, document, and report quality control issues with multiple departments including production, purchasing and engineering. The Warranty Claims Manager will know when to escalate urgent problems, requiring more in-depth knowledge, to appropriate internal resources.

    Responsibilities

    • Provide top-notch customer service for retail, dealer, and internal customers
    • Provide technical product support to dealers, consumers, and parts department
    • Facilitate warranty claims processing
    • Use professional, tactful written and verbal communication skills to guide the customer, winning them over and gaining their brand loyalty
    • Provide a positive customer experience for internal and external customers through calls, emails, forums and any other forms of communication
    • Create replacement orders for missing boat parts from boats and work with production to correct any factory issues
    • Facilitate and initiate boat shipping damage claims for dealers
    • Actively participate and moderate Hobie forum as a company representative, product specialist and customer service agent
    • Recommend/Initiate when there is a need for a new product video based on customer feedback and new products launching, assist with other instructional product videos when requested
    • Assist in testing new products and provide feedback and data to engineering and design when requested
    • Assist with sales and marketing projects and all other tasks as needed

    Qualifications

    • Ideal candidate would have existing product knowledge or be a Hobie product enthusiast
    • Must have relevant experience in a customer facing role
    • Must be an excellent communicator with a passion for providing customer service activities through various levels of correspondence
    • Must be a self-starter with excellent time management skills
    • Must have excellent follow through and organization with a high attention to detail
    • Must be adept at using the Microsoft Office suite of products
    • Must be willing and able to learn very technical aspects of our products as well as learn about our production process from assembly through final shipping.
    • Minimum of High School Diploma, with Associate or Bachelor’s degree preferred

  • Rotational Molding Machine Operator

    Rotational Molding Machine Operator

    $14.50 per hour
    M-Th, 5am-5pm (4 x 12’s)
    Daily and Weekly Overtime Provided

    About the Company

    From our headquarters in Oceanside California, Hobie Cat produces an impressive collection of innovative watercrafts such as stand-up-paddle boards, kayaks, and boats for both recreation and fishing. This is a fantastic opportunity to learn the roto-molding trade with our hands-on training and instruction. No previous roto-molding experience required!

    Primary Responsibilities and Duties

    • Operate industrial roto-molding oven to produce high quality plastic products
    • Work with a partner to meet production goals
    • Prepare molds by cleaning them, adding inserts and other components
    • Add the proper amount of materials to each mold and utilize overhead cranes to regularly lift and move heavy equipment
    • Utilize hand and power tools to finish the product
    • Inspect products for defects, irregularities, or damages
    • Organize and clean manufacturing space daily
    • Abide by all company safety regulations
    • All other duties as assigned

    Essential Physical Demands

    • Continuous lifting of 50+ lbs
    • Continuous standing, reaching, bending, and pushing/pulling
    • Intermittent crouching/stooping
    • Ability to work in a warm environment
    • Must be able to work full time on an ongoing basis

    Qualifications

    • On the job training and instruction provided! No prior roto-molding experience required!
    • Prior manufacturing, construction or applicable experience preferred
    • Ability to operate hand tools, power tools, and industrial equipment safely and properly abiding by company procedures
    • Team player with high work ethic and crafting skills
    • Ability to lift and move heavy objects up to 50lbs regularly and up to 100+lbs with the use of carts and additional team mates in a manufacturing environment
    • Must be authorized to work in the US with proper documentation

    Position Type and Expected Hours of Work

    This full-time position follows a state approved alternative work week schedule, working four, twelve-hour shifts, overtime is accrued after the 10th hour of work in a day.

    Schedule: Monday through Thursday, 5:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.

    Production Technician, Assembly

    Non-Exempt, $13.50 per Hour
    M-Th, 6am-4:30pm (4 x 10’s)

    Job Description

    We are looking for a capable Production Technician to support our Assembly Department in producing a variety of heavy duty plastic products. The Production Technician will use a variety of power and hand tools to assemble and package kayaks, standup paddle boards and small catamarans. The position follows standard work methods and practices safe work habits to ensure production is as efficient and safe as possible.

    • Utilize hand and power tools to assemble kayaks, stand up paddle boards and small catamarans
    • Regularly lift and move heavy equipment, up to 50+ lbs
    • Inspect products for defects, irregularities or damages
    • Organize and clean manufacturing space daily
    • Move and store outgoing inventory items appropriately
    • Abide by all company safety regulations
    • All other duties as assigned

    Qualifications

    • Prior manufacturing, construction or applicable experience preferred
    • Ability to operate hand tools, power tools, and industrial equipment safely
    • Team player with high work ethic and crafting skills
    • Ability to lift and move heavy objects up to 50lbs regularly and up to 100+lbs with assistance
    • Bilingual preferred
