For the third year, Hobie® is headlining the Fred Hall Fishing, Tackle and Boat Show in Del Mar (March 17-20). It’s fitting. Kayak fishing roots run deep at the Hall Show. After all, modern kayak fishing started in Southern California.
It’s all here: the newest, fishiest rides; the latest in rigging accessories and plenty of expert installation know-how; and seminars from some of kayak fishing’s leading lights. You can even book trips to far-off fishing adventures centered on Hobie fishing craft that can go virtually anywhere.
Stop by the Hobie Fishing Stage for a variety of helpful seminars. Kevin Nakada’s Kayak Techniques for Yellowtail is a must for anyone chasing a first forkie, or looking to improve his or her game. Other seminars cover routine maintenance and upgrades, saltwater bass fishing, spear and trout fishing, and more.
For those in the market for new Hobie fishing kayaks and accessories, Fastlane Sailing Center will be on hand. Stop by for information on upcoming fishing events and charters.
If you hunger to mix it up with powerful tropical pelagics, you have to stop by the Rancho Leonero booth. The Ranch was the first international kayak fishing destination. This legendary Baja outpost still does it the best. John Ireland’s staff maintains a fleet of Hobie fish ‘yaks. Launch off the beach to chase tuna, dorado, cabrilla, and jacks including the muscular and majestic rooster fish, or load the kayaks on board a panga or cruiser. It’s an outstanding travel bang for the buck.
