In Hobie Fishing World Championship 6 action in Leeville, Louisiana, Team USA’s Matthew Scotch leads with 56 total inches of fish after day one of three. Scotch, who qualified via the Hobie Bass Open, tallied a 38-inch redfish and an 18-inch sea trout in wind-marred conditions.
“We were fighting some really tough conditions today. It affected a lot of guys’ strategy. I got my fish really early. I caught them on the same bait, about three minutes apart. We’ll see what happens in the next couple of days but I’m pretty happy with my day one result,“ Scotch said.
