Cordova Bay "Sailstice" with West Coast Island Club - Sooke, BC

Victoria, BC
June 21

Saturday June 21st – 3:00pm – Vancouver Island Come join BC’s West Coast Outdoors Hobie Island Club in Cordova Bay for some Sailing Fun, Food and Friendship !Here are the official details… Hi Hobie Owners!

To celebrate to Summer Solstice – we will be taking part in the worldwide sailing event, “Hobie Sailstice”! Summer is here – so… let’s get out on the water! Anyone with a sail equipped Hobie (incl. Hobie kayaks with “downwind” smaller sail, Adventure/Tandem Islands or even Hobie Cat) is invited to join! It will not be an “epic” distance / destination sail-out, I foresee shorter “hour or two” trip/s then a bit of a social gathering, something more regular may come later? We will meet / sail from Cordova Bay, Saanich / Victoria from about 3.30pm – 8pm on Saturday 21st June. If you wish to arrive earlier and make a day of it, let us know, and we will coordinate others interested as well! (Nearest “kayak” access / meeting point is at the beach access near 5055 Cordova Bay Rd, there is no parking “area” there, so PLEASE be respectful of neighboring driveways and access! (street parking) There are a couple of other beach access points on Cordova Bay Rd, and a small car park (no trailers) on Agate Lane with beach access. Turn right when on the water, just down the beach 500-600m you will see a Yellow Tandem Island or two on the sand (nr owners home)) I will bring a Tandem Island plus a “kayak sail” for your MirageDrive Hobie – if you wish to try one out. It’s fun! Winds are generally light in the area, so don’t expect tough conditions or worry that you will be out of your element, it will be a great place to meet like minded people and share ideas / experiences. (I could bring an Adventure Island also – if you cannot get yours there or wish to try – phone me!) Our Tandem Island (with trampolines) will also be available as a “demo” boat if you have a friend interested! Feel free to bring a snack / beverage, but remember we will be on a popular public sandy beach in a residential area, we do not want to disrupt other users or residents. This is a social event and structure/times are not set in stone! Please reply if you are coming or have a questions. If numbers start getting up we may have to shift the location – but we have found that as many owners are closer to Victoria than Sooke – it may be easier for most of you. We hope to see you there, sorry for the late notice! Allen West Coast Outdoor Island Club Tel: 250 664 7794
